Nanyang Technological University delegation visits the Faculty of Chemistry UW

On 29 July 2026, we welcomed a delegation from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore, led by Prof. Grzegorz Lisak from the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI). The delegation also included Prof. Teik-Thye Lim, Assoc. Prof. Xunchang Fei, and researchers representing NTU research teams: Dr. Chan Wei Ping, Dr. Liang Lili, Dr. Zhao Ya, Dr. Zhang Jiaye, Wong Lok To, Vernette Chin, Stephan Heberlein, and Shu Yixiang. The visit included a scientific seminar during which our guests presented their research on water and wastewater treatment, advanced oxidation processes, sustainable waste management, resource recovery, thermochemical waste conversion, and environmental technologies.

The research activities of the Faculty of Chemistry UW were presented by Dr. Adrian Sytniczuk, Monika Adamowska, Dr. Bartłomiej Witkowski, Dr. Marta Fiedoruk-Pogrebniak, Dr. Kamil Strzelak, and Dr. Witold Uhrynowski. The short presentations focused on the expertise of the respective research teams and potential areas of collaboration with NTU. The presentations and discussion helped identify several shared research interests, including environmental chemistry, the circular economy, functional materials, chemical sensors, joint research projects, and academic exchange.

We would like to thank Prof. Grzegorz Lisak and all members of the NTU delegation for their visit, excellent presentations, and open discussion. We hope that this meeting will mark the beginning of fruitful and long-term cooperation between Nanyang Technological University and the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Warsaw.
