Giulio Milazzo Award

On June 21, 2026, Renata Bilewicz received the prestigious Giulio Milazzo Award from the Bioelectrochemical Society (BES).

Presented every two years during the BES Symposium, this accolade recognizes distinguished members who have demonstrated scientific excellence at the highest level and made significant contributions to the advancement of bioelectrochemistry.

Named in honor of Professor Giulio Milazzo, the founder and first president of the Society, the award honors outstanding lifelong achievements in the field.

Notably, Renata Bilewicz is the first woman ever to receive this distinction.
