Brief description of the research topic:
Academic staff in our Laboratory are engaged in a broad array of research activities, primarily I the field of stereocontrolled organic synthesis. We are engaged in the development of asymmetric catalytic methods, especially those based on the chiral Lewis acids as catalysts.
Our research on new catalysts is focused on the development of enantioselective methods for the synthesis of allylic and propargylic alcohols and amines, often used in subsequent transformations, such as the Achmatowicz rearrangement of optically active α,β-unsaturated alcohols and amines, a very useful tool in the synthesis of biologically active compounds.
We are interested in developing a new methods for the application of organoindium compounds in enantioselective organic synthesis.
The newly developed chiral catalysts, chiral auxiliaries and new synthetic methods are applied for the synthesis of natural, biologically active compounds.
We are highly engaged in design, synthesis and evaluation of cytotoxic properties of structurally modified vitamin D compounds, synthesis of steroid hormones agonists and antagonists and studies on their biological activity.
