International Conference on Peptide Materials for Biomedicine and Nanotechnology

The Peptide Materials (PepMat) conference series has firmly established itself as a premier platform for the exchange of ideas and advancements in peptide material science. Since its inception in 2013, PepMat has been hosted in several vibrant cities: Sorrento, Italy (2013 and 2023), Barcelona, Spain (2016), and London, United Kingdom (2018). Each edition has brought together leading scientists, researchers, and industry experts to discuss the latest trends and innovations in peptide materials.

The conferences have attracted numerous participants from around the world, featuring engaging lectures, presentations, and poster sessions covering a wide array of topics, including peptide self-assembly, peptide interactions with materials, peptide hydrogels, biomaterials for tissue regeneration, and materials for optoelectronic applications.

We are excited to announce that the next PepMat conference will take place in 2026 in Warsaw, Poland. Building on the success of previous editions, PepMat 2026 aims to provide a dynamic platform for presenting cutting-edge research, fostering collaborations, and exploring new directions in peptide materials. The event will feature plenary lectures, oral presentations, and poster sessions, offering ample opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange.

Over the past quarter-century, research into peptide-based materials has evolved into an interdisciplinary, independent, and highly active branch of science, spanning physics, chemistry, biology, and computer science. More recently, the development of complex multimolecular structures—often at the nanometer scale—from naturally occurring biological compounds has garnered significant interest, giving rise to the emerging field of nanobiology. Peptide-based materials have become central to this new discipline, often driven by specific applications that necessitate convergence with other fields. The controlled manipulation of peptide nanostructures and microstructures presents an exceptionally challenging scientific goal. In this context, the algorithms, tools, concepts, and methods developed in materials science hold immense potential for harnessing peptides as a unique class of materials. Whether used alone or in combination with traditional materials (e.g., polymers and inorganic particles), peptides offer exciting opportunities for the development of innovative applications, particularly in the biomedical and nanotechnological fields.

Warsaw, with its rich history and vibrant culture, provides an inspiring backdrop for PepMat 2026. Participants will have the chance to explore the city’s historical landmarks, savor its culinary delights, and experience its dynamic atmosphere.

We warmly invite scientists and practitioners from academia and industry to join us in Warsaw for PepMat 2026. Together, we will continue to push the boundaries of peptide materials and contribute to the development of groundbreaking solutions for global challenges.

Stay tuned for further announcements regarding abstract submissions, registration details, and program updates.
