A new paper in the The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters (ACS) has been published by the group of Prof. Robert Szoszkiewicz (RSz) with dr Saeed Sovizi being the main author. The paper pertains to the developments of the Thermochemical Nanolithography (TCNL) in the context of non-graphene 2D materials. Dr Marcin Strawski, also from the WCh UW, another co-author of this paper, delivered ToF-SIMS studies and some XPS studies, which were important to further verify the chemical changes on the investigated surfaces.

This paper contains so much research that it should have been two papers instead of one only. It is a very comprehensive study, where instead of expected TCNL-induced oxidation, we pushed the investigated 2D flakes into the substrates. We also discovered a new, reverse TCNL patterning scheme on 2D materials, and finally established recommended practices for a successful TCNL calibration.
