Lecture by Dr. hab. Łucja Kowalewska, NCN Award Laureate — 19 November 2025

We’d like to invite you to a lecture by Dr. hab. Łucja Kowalewska from the Department of Plant Anatomy and Cytology, IBEiBR, entitled “Complex Nanoscale Topologies in Plants – Diamond and Gyroid Membrane Networks in Plastids”. The lecture (in English) will take place on 19 November at 1:30 p.m. in the Faculty Council Room (1st floor) of the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw (Miecznikowa 1).

Dr. Łucja Kowalewska is this year’s NCN Award laureate in the field of Life Sciences. During her lecture, she will present her research on the properties of biological membranes, particularly those of plastids.

The NCN Award is regarded in the Polish scientific community as the most prestigious distinction for young researchers conducting basic research in Polish scientific institutions.
